file sharing: vindication!!

aha! I TOLD YOU SO!!! (to all the anti-file sharers). finally, empiracal proof... (you have to log in, but its free) here's an excerpt: One consultant [that provided a sharing = bad study to the RIAA, hired by the RIAA], Russ Crupnick, vice president of the NPD Group, called the report "absolutely astounding." Asked to explain how the professors' analysis might be mistaken, he said he was still trying to understand the complex document: "I am not the level of mathematician that the professors purport to be." that statement is very telling. it says to me that the weasels at the RIAA will do anything or say anything, including hiring incompetent firms to perform junk surveys. they're all a bunch of liars, folks.

I'm not disagreeing with it, but just because a couple of researchers say something doesn't make it fact.

I don't think anyone (in this thread) is saying that illegal filesharing is 'right', it isn't. But for the RIAA to say it's the reason their industry is failing is certainly misleading & inaccurate.

If the RIAA needs a hint about why sales are down, perhaps they should take a look at the Nickelback thread............

I appreciate the value of art. But every time I see an episode of "MTV cribs" I don't feel sorry for those poor "artists". Even though I don't download music myself. Heck, the people who make the music I listen to would probably be happy someone is even listening.
